Welcome!
Hi, I’m Skylar — the doula behind Bluffside Birth.
I’ve been married to my husband Cody for 12 years, and together we’re raising six amazing kids. We love Jesus and aim to honor Him in our home each day. When I’m not supporting families, you can find me outdoors — camping, hiking, and exploring — or homeschooling our crew.
I’ve always had a deep passion for birth. It’s truly one of the most powerful, sacred experiences in life — and it doesn't have to be wrapped in fear. With the right preparation, education, and support, birth can be filled with joy, strength, and confidence, even amidst the natural unknowns.
The name Bluffside Birth was inspired by the climb of labor. Just like hiking a bluff or mountain, the journey can be intense — but the focus isn’t on the pain. The focus is on the beauty and joy at the top: holding your baby for the first time. My goal is to help shift that perspective for the families I support.
As your doula, I’ll walk beside you — offering continuous care, emotional reassurance, and guidance tailored to your unique experience. I’m also here to support your partner, helping them feel confident and connected so they can play an active, loving role in your labor.
And while birth is a huge part of what I do, I’m especially passionate about supporting women postpartum. In our culture, we often pour energy into preparing for birth — which is so important — but we forget how much care and support mothers need after baby arrives. I’m here to help you feel seen, supported, and nurtured during that vulnerable time.
If you're curious about what it’s like to have a doula in your corner — I’d love to connect. Let's make this journey one that feels empowered, informed, and beautifully yours. 💛
“Just as a women’s heart knows how and when to pump, her lungs to inhale and her hand to pull back from fire, so she knows when and how to give birth".”
